SHORT COURSE ON WATER RECYCLING

Announcing a …Short course on Water Recycling for Urban Applications 13th and 14th December 2005 School of Water Sciences, Cranfield University, UK.

Water recycling and reuse are becoming increasingly important elements of integrated water resources management strategies. Opportunities for reclamation and reuse are expanding as research on the technological, economic, and social dimensions of reuse push back the barriers to their effective, safe and efficient application. This 2-day short course will provide delegates including design engineers, process scientists, researchers, operators, regulators, interested citizens and water managers with core information on the practical aspects of reuse scheme planning and management. The programme includes sessions on water quality standards, technology selection, public perception, and the economic analysis of reuse schemes. Discounted registration is available to a small number of delegates from developing countries.

The topics of this course will include the following:

Water reuse policy issues

Water quality characterization and standards

Water recycling – wastewater quantity issues

Participative planning and stakeholder engagement

Economic analysis of reuse schemes
